Say a Prayer

Posted on March 21, 2007

A few months ago I was invited to go to the Navy and Marine Hospital in Maryland to cheer up all the guys and women who were there recovering from awful injuries that they had sustained while fighting for this country overseas.
It was an experience that was life altering for me and made me realize just how young these kids are, what they were going through in order to recuperate and how much they love the United States of America. That is why I wanted to take a moment to recognize that its been 4 years since this war in Iraq started and I feel its important to say prayers for all the young men and women who have lost their lives in the pursuit of our freedoms.
I also wanted to say prayers for all those men and women who continue to selflessly defend the USA as well. Let us all remember the families and friend who have loved and lost people that they loved. There are no words that we can say to really thank all of the injured for the pain that they have endured and must endure to continue to get well.
We are humbled by all that you do for us.
We thank you…and we love you for serving us well.

    wendy,

The Veitnam War severly injured a close friend of my. I never thought this war would touch my life in any way. I was wrong. Where I live is close to a Marine Base. And the opportunity to come in contact with a number of the wonderful Marines on that base in a off-base, fun atmosphere, was granted to me. There is always one person that everything clicks. His name was Russ, younger than my own son. Russ was a precious, dear person that grew to be admired and loved by my family and friends. We lost Russ 2 years ago in September. To this day he enters my thoughts on a regular basis. There are some that disagree with the war and some that say there is no other way. The Marines I know believe in what they are doing and I, personally, feel the people of the United States should back them 100%. Even if we do not believe in the war, the majority of the soldiers over there, for us, believe in what they are doing. So back the USA Soldier ALL THE WAY. GO USA

Thanks Wendy for your effort to cheer the wounded.

    Mary

I am not a very political person, but i am a huge supporter of the Men and Women who defend us and our many Freedoms. I dont agree with the War, and I hope and pray that our next President can fix this mess that Bush has gotten us in. And on a funnier note, i made my Hubby a t-shirt that says ” The only BUSH i support is my WIFES”. Take care and God Bless!

Wendy, thank you SOOOO much for visiting the soldiers. I just lost my son-in-law in January from an IED after he had returned to Mosul 4 days after he was home on leave to see his and my daughter’s first child was born. For my daughter and myself, it is truly appreciated that everyone is receiving the prayers of the people.
