Perhaps what shows or movies you might be involved in next would be good. Do you have any advice for aspiring actors? I have been so paranoid to try anything with acting because of my body.

  2. Wendy Says:

Hi Christina…I was so glad that you wrote to me!!! Its funny, I was never an actress when I began my career doing ads for snapple. I was an employee of the company who was handling all the corporate mail because no one there wanted to :-) !!
Anyway…I think those initial ads were really the beginning of what is now known as reality tv. If you had seen what I was up against in those days..you wouldn\’t have believed it..everyone was perfect. Nowadays…If you look at all the people who are in the acting field..so many of them have girth. Be proud of who you are and what you are girlfriend..and go out there and reach for the stars. If you don\’t, someone else will!!

I am starting my 30th year of obease life next month and I would really love to enter my 30’s with a new body. Can you share with me any dieting tips that may help me through my own personal “can’t wait to be thin” quest? You have done so well, and I can only hope to have your will and energy. You were my absolute favorite on the show. No matter how hard things were, you pulled through without excuses. You are a true inspiration… you are doing it the healthy way, without surgery.. Yay for you!!!

  7. RMG Says:

Hello. I did not really watch the show, but caught the “Where are they now” show. You look great and I give you all the best wishes to keep doing well!!!

I think it is great that you are going to come out with a clothes line that is more “Normal” looking for the + size!!! I have a hard time even finding something to work out in!!! I have gone from 276 to 241. I am a 31y/o over sea’s military wife. I have always worked full time and ate fast food, and fed it to my kids, and got home to late to work out. I left for work by 7 and home by 6 if I had no other chores or such to stop off and do. I am now home full time and and between my husband, myself and my son we have lost almost 80 pounds together in our quest to get healthy!

I hate that I have to go to the gym in a man’s tee-shirt and shorts as there are not any work out clothes in my size!!! It seems the thought is, oh she’s fat, so she CAN”T work out. It’s not set in this world to help us get out there and do it. (Sorry…… I’m almost done ranting!!!) It’s hard enough to go in there and feel as if everyone is looking and judging you for being there and being fat, but then to have to go in men’s clothes. It’s yet another reason I HATE going. BUT I have done it 4-5 times a week and it is paying off. I am not yet into the “Cute” work out clothes, or ANY “Cute” clothes.

I would love to hear WHAT you are looking at putting out and hope that maybe we could start to find some things that don’t make me feel like I’m 90 years old!!! (Shirts with plaid and windows with flowers in the basket and an orange cat somewhere!)

All my best to you on this new line and in your quest to get healthier. It’s a long hard track and a fight, no matter who you are. I for one will be begging for a few cute girlie work out outfits in my size that are FOR women!!

I was looking to choose tonight!!! LOL!!! I can’t wait!!

    Best Wishes,
    ~~RMG~~

    Hi Wendy!!!

I saw the “Where are they now? Celebrity Fit Club” and I was entrigued by your story. I immediately found this website when you spoke about your Wendy Wear clothing line!

I would like to hear more about you and the ups and downs of promoting your clothing line. The things you’ve learned and what hopes you have for it. I think its a great thing you started and I’m looking forward to seeing the reveal!!!

  9. Lizzy Says:

Just wanted to wish you luck on your new clothing line. I also saw you on “Celebrity Fit Club Where Are They Now” and was intrigued by the Rainbow tie-dye short set you modeled for a second.
After reading your description of the hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut I was thinking it would be kind of fun to see a blog about memorable (Wendy reccommended) places to eat you may have found while traveling. More specifically does Las Vegas have any place with great Pastrami? I live in Las Vegas so with you being well traveled I wondered if you had ever heard of good Pastrami in Las Vegas?

    Hi Wendy:

It was so nice meeting you this Saturday July 30 at the baloon festival. My daughter (Jenny), girlfriend (Bonnie), her grandaughter (Haylee)and I were the ones holding the miniture pincher (Sophie)that we happened to sneak in. I was the one trying to hide the bottle of OJ in front of the snapple booth. lol

Its nice to see you as a celebrity hanging out and taking the time (which was a great 10 minutes) to talk to your fans. In the whole “OMG its Wendy” I forgot to ask for your autograph, or take a picture….next time.

Love always - Maribel, Bonnie, Jenny, Haylee & Sophie!

  11. Maribel Says:

…..correction on last statement……I dont even know my days - Saturday the 29th. “WE LOVE YOU WENDY!!”

  12. Wendy Says:

Dear April…thanks so much for writing. After I stopped all drinking, drugs, and smoking I gained 100 pounds in about a millisecond…and its taken me 16 years to address the weight portion of my obsessive compulsive behavior. Believe me, it is not easy. I keep plugging away at it and there really is no easy or quick fix. The first thing that you have to do is just realize how loved you are by so many others and start to think of yourself as lovable. We tend to beat the crap out of ourselves psychologically worse than anyone else could ever do it to us…so PLEASE DON”T DO THAT TO YOURSELF ANYMORE. April, every day is a work in progress. Do one nice thing for yourself everyday and I promise you…you really will start to love yourself. It can be getting a manicure..a facial…doing something you’ve been putting off, it can be walking 20 minutes, doing something wonderful for someone else…all these things will get you to care more about you. As this happens, and you start to care…the other stuff will fall into place. Please stay in touch and let me know what you are doing proactively on this subject. We will address the diet later. I love you…so you better start to love you too!!

  13. Wendy Says:

Dear RMG…I promise that I hear you very loudly and clearly!! :-) First..let me congratulate you on your weight loss!! As Harvey would say on the show “AWESOME”.
After not one, but 2 stints on CFC I realized how horribly cheated us plus sized folks were ESPECIALLY when it came to work out clothes. Even today working out..I am wearing mens xxl shorts and tee’s and there is just NO REASON for this. As you know, wendywear is at its beginning. No one knows better than we do about what will make us feel great about ourselves while we are on this journey. I promise you…I have heard everything you are saying and agree wholeheartedly with you. Nothing like your boobs smashing you in the face when you are doing jumping jacks. Just stay in the fight and don’t be a stranger to the site. WE ARE ON IT!!

  14. Wendy Says:

Hi Kim…thanks so much for writing!! For some strange reason…the folks at vh1 contacted me after I did “I LOVE THE 90’s” to go onto this new show Celebrity Fit Club. After an initial response of “THEY MUST BE KIDDING” my sister and my cousin-the dentist, with drill in his hand—talked me into doing the show. I did it twice and it has changed my life. I still make appearances for my beloved brand snapple…but my new life mission is to help other plus sized women feel lovable and empowered and know that they are not less than anyone else. So often, I thought terribly of myself because I was over a size 14. In hindsight now, I realize that its not the size that matters…ITS WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR SIZE IN LIFE!!! I am determined to help all of us look and feel great when we all start to get healthier and go to the gym. At least that’s where we start together. If you want to find out more about me…do a google search…there’s plenty to read. I look forward to hearing from you soon!!

Dear Lizzy…..How great of you to write!!! In answer to your very important question about pastami… I have to tell you that THERE ARE NO GREAT DELI’s in VEGAS…Period!!! I have spent huge amounts of time on the strip…and I have loads of recommendations…but for great pastrami….ARTIE’s and THE CARNEGIE in NEW YORK CITY…hand’s down!!
    Any other suggestions..write again

Love and Hugs..and I love you all back!!

Dear Susan….Hi again..thanks for your post. How funny you should mention a reality show. Victoria Jackson just pitched one with the 2 of us to her agents!! Keep your fingers crossed…I think I’m flying to LA at the end of the month to take a meeting with a production company!!

  18. Wendy Says:

Dear Annie…thanks so much for writing and telling me about MMA. Just trying to kickbox has me all nuts…but we are starting to add some martial arts stuff into the mix…(I’m getting close to being ready to start this stuff, health wise!!!) and I will totally let you know what I think. My trainer, Ish, had me use weights today kind of behind my head. When I bent down, both my knees cracked so I had to lay low!!! :-) I have arthritis in my knees so I have to modify alot of stuff. Its not easy being middle aged and a woman of girth :-)
Please stay in touch and let me know what you are up to!!

Just thought I ought to let you know, WHY STOP AT ACTIVE WEAR? Swimwear, play clothes, pajamas! There are no good swim suits for my size out there that doesnt make me look like the Michelin man! Seriously, I think you and me are on to something here!

  20. Wendy Says:

    Rachel you Rock!

I would love to hear your thoughts. I am creating this for me and YOU and others like us! This is OUR THING!
